Seaweed & Algae

Seaweed is coastal food, gathered wherever the shore gave it: Monte Verde in Chile has chewed seaweed 14,000 years old, Japan has taxed nori since the eighth century, and Wales and Ireland kept laver and dulse in the diet for centuries. It needs no cultivation and little season, which made it the reliable food of poor coasts.
