Commercial makers may control fermentation more closely, filter the drink, package it in bottles, or stabilize it to improve shelf life. Historical context
Bali supported irrigated rice agriculture organized through long-established networks of fields, canals, temples, and cooperative water management. Political power was consolidating around the Gelgel kingdom as Majapahit authority in Java receded.
